In the heart of Berlin, within a kilometre radius of ACADEMY Bühnenkunstschule, there are many reminders of the Nazi past

This performance poses the questions:

What was the foundation of power during the Nazi era? Who had the courage to resist?

Starting with highly relevant questions about power and resistance, we go in search of clues. We encounter people, stories and structures, look at them with creative energy, ask questions and create connections. In the here and now, we set ourselves in motion and invite the audience to come with us.

I STAND STILL and (get) move(d)

In this performance the ACADEMY is looking at stories of women and girls during the Second World War who were imprisoned in Ravensbrück, the largest women’s concentration camp in Germany. Inspired by this search, they will create a performance for January 27. Based on a trip to Ravensbrück, workshops, and encounters that they hosted in November 2024, the performance I STAND STILL and (get) move(d) will combine dance, literature, visual art, and performing art.
