Looking Back: Theatre of Remembrance 2025 After Movie
The 8th edition of Theatre of Remembrance is a fact. On January 27th, as the world marked 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, people across Europe paused to honour the past, each in their own way, yet bound together in a shared ritual of remembrance.
In ten locations across Europe—from a former prison in Italy to an old milk factory in Denmark, from the streets of the former “international ghetto” in Hungary to the National Holocaust Museum in the Netherlands—history was brought to life through theatre. These were not just meaningful performances; they were living echoes of survival, resilience, and the unbreakable human spirit.
From Warsaw to Amsterdam, from Torup to Turin, voices of women in resistance, the distant thunder of falling bombs, and the fragile hope that flickered even in the darkest times resonated through the performances. Young talents, inspired by interviews with eyewitnesses, gave form to stories that might otherwise fade with time—translating unspeakable history into something tangible, something felt.
There is so much more to say, but sometimes, words fall short. Instead, we invite you to experience it yourself—through the aftermovie:
